I write this from a room where the Food Network is showing. Not to fret, it is not on a TV that I have control over. But as I contemplate the idea that there is a whole network dedicated to the cooking of food, it hit me.
“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’”
When Jesus spoke those words, His audience was concerned about whether or not they would eat or drink or be clothed. Not so much about the quality, or really even quantity, but merely the yes or no of it.
Our culture has advanced so far beyond relying on God for necessities. What does it say about us that the rewards for creating a food network for TV are greater than feeding people who do not have food?
