Paul’s mother and I are nearing the end of our slightly over one month stay with Paul, Cammy, Petr and Andrej. The time has past very quickly, at least for me. I have gone with Paul to the AIM hanger every weekday other than last Friday and today – so that I could do a few projects at their home. Paul has me working on a web based database program for AIM’s auto repair facility, now known as the TAM (Technical Assistance Ministry) Shop. The shop is one of the areas of Paul’s responsibilities. He hopes to change the name to something that is more descriptive of the the work they do there, but he doesn’t want to step on any toes. That, of course, has nothing to do with our stay here. Paul had started the database program, but has been too busy to work on it. I am slowly learning the program and the programming language (PHP) it is written in. I mentioned to Paul that I have a character flaw that allows me to sit at a computer all day if I am programming. He said that he apparently inherited that flaw. “It’s my fault.” Fortunately (for me at least) I will able to continue working on the program after we return home – isn’t the internet great!
Sherry (Paul’s mother) has been staying with Cammy and Andrej each day (Petr is in school). She gets to go shopping now and then which, of course, she enjoys. Now, I must say, “shopping” here is a different experience for her, but she has found a few interesting items.
